SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
FotoNation Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tessera Technologies,
Inc. (NASDAQ:TSRA) and the leading provider of computational imaging
solutions for smartphones, and Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications
Corp., Ltd (OPPO), a leading Chinese smartphone OEM and electronics
manufacturer, have collaborated to reshape mobile photography with the
pioneering panorama features of OPPO N3 and OPPO R5.
FotoNation's Panorama technology was chosen to complement the
capabilities of the world's first automated swivel smartphone camera,
the OPPO N3, as well as the thinnest smartphone in the world, the OPPO
R5.
FotoNation Panorama exploits N3's motorized camera and can deliver
pictures up to 64-megapixels. The N3 camera can rotate up to 206 degrees
for panoramas, and it is equipped with the Schneider Kreuznach certified
lens build, which will raise the bar for Panorama standards.
"OPPO has proven yet again that by taking creative approaches, small
steps can be transformed into giant leaps ahead with breakthrough
technology. We are thrilled to be a part of this incredible duo of
performance driven by innovation in the OPPO N3 and OPPO R5 platforms,"
said Sumat Mehra, senior vice president of marketing and business
development at FotoNation.
"Redefining mobile photography is not an easy task, even with the
world's most innovative smartphone camera," said Jack Wong, Vice
president of investment and strategic cooperation at OPPO. "FotoNation's
flexibility and customization capabilities, coupled with its unmatched
expertise, made it our choice for the N3 and R5 platforms."
