SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
FotoNation
Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tessera
Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSRA), announced today that it's
demonstrating the company's latest, advanced mobile solutions for
enabling biometrics, electronic image stabilization (EIS) and advanced
face analytics at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, February
22-25, 2016. With nearly two billion digital cameras and smart devices
worldwide using FotoNation's imaging technologies, FotoNation is a key
enabler of the mobile market and fast growing emerging adjacencies such
as the recreational drone market. In particular, the imaging
capabilities of leading high-end smartphones and tablets in the market
today are powered by FotoNation computational imaging technology and
solutions.
At MWC, FotoNation is showcasing the following innovations:
-
Advanced EIS Capabilities Enhance Image Quality
FotoNation
is not only making smartphones see more, but also enabling them to see
faster and smoother images without any shaking through the latest
computational imaging algorithms. The result is spectacular looking
photos and videos from a user's smartphone regardless of lighting
condition and unwanted motion of fast-moving subjects without the need
of a tripod. FotoNation is collaborating with leading mobile handset,
video surveillance camera and drone manufacturers to deliver high
quality, smooth imagery in any environment. FotoNation's expanding
portfolio of EIS software solutions and integrated system solutions
based on a hybrid hardware and software implementation will be on
display in the FotoNation MWC suite.
-
Advanced Biometrics Capabilities Secure and Analyze
The
latest biometrics solutions for the mobile market will also be on
display in the FotoNation MWC suite. From iris recognition to facial
recognition capabilities, new smartphones are able to quickly and
securely authenticate user ID where correct detection of the user is
vital through its camera in less than half-a-second. These new
features protect user's privacy while protecting against ID fraud in
banking, m-commerce transactions and access to subscription services.
Additionally, biometrics can enable deeper analysis of who's in the
picture or video frame and what's around them. With smartphones being
an extension of the user and taken everywhere, there is an endless
supply of photos/videos that are being captured. FotoNation offers a
broad portfolio of advanced biometrics to deliver high security and
advanced analytics.
-
Advanced Beautification Capabilities Enhance Photos and Videos
FotoNation's
fifth-generation of beautification algorithms retouches portraits and
videos to create the best image. Advanced features can adjust skin and
tone color, add make-up digitally, and enable real-time smart lighting
and smart color to create perfect professional photos and videos every
time. FotoNation's growing portfolio of beautification features will
be on display in the FotoNation MWC suite.
